JC4IV is a school from home group forming in the Illinois Valley for families using any curriculum or for families that want to build closer family ties. JC4IV is geared towards keeping precious socialization intact, bouncing ideas off other parents and allowing kids to be with others that face the same challenges, all while praising God! Join us as we plan fun field trips, plan exercise to keep our kids healthy, take school portraits and other fun activities! Feel free to participate in part or all of the opportunities available through this group (prayer, fellowship, field trips, exercise, school portraits, ideas and fun- all while praising God)! Jesus Christ 4 the Illinois Valley (JC4IV) Mission Statement: Is organized and developed to provide a loving, supportive, safe and educational environment for families who school at home their children or who are looking for an environment to grow their families in Christ Jesus. Our goal is to offer a place that meets the intellectual, moral, social, emotional, and physical needs of each child. It is also our mission for each child to know that they are loved by God.
We're back! We tried something new this year. Many people asked to take a break during the Christmas season due to the craziness of the holidays and so we did. Now, we're back! Come join us as we try a new schedule of only two meetings per month. Can't wait to see you at our next meeting! :) May God bless you richly!

Since it has been so long since we've touched base, we thought it would be a good idea to reconvene and make sure we are all still on the same track for the direction everyone wants to see JC4IV go. We would like to check in with the kids to see what they have in mind and go over what we had oringially set out the group to be. We will eat and fellowship for a bit and then as kids watch a movie, the adults will get to work planning what the kids shared with us. This promises to be quite the exciting year! God has plans for good (Jeremiah 29:11) and I can't wait to see where He takes us!

Making Valentine's

Last year, the kids got together and made wonderful valentines all filled with messages of the love of Jesus. Then, we all caravanned over to the retirement home and joined their Valentine's Day party. The kids had such a wonderful experience and the people were so thankful! The home has invited us back and in order to be prepared, we will have a Valentine's Making Party! Bring a snack and some scissors! Bring paper and glue! Let your creative juices flow! This is a great opportunity for those of you who scrapbook! All the supplies you need will be available for purchase at Heritage Moments Scrapbooking if you prefer to purchase your items there. This was so much fun, we hope to have even more fun this year!

Sharing God's love through valentines

We will plan together with the retirement home to share God's love with the residents through valentines. We will be in contact with the home to arrange a time/date for this to take place, so look here for updates as the time grows nearer. We have tentatively set the time and day for 02/12/10 leaving Cave Junction at 10:00am. We will be meeting in the parking lot of Heritage Moments Scrapbooking and caravan from there. Please note that this time/date is subject to change. Let us come together to remember the forgotten and share Jesus with those around us. This is a great outreach opportunity!

Okay, our kids have been begging us to take them to the snow since we moved here three years ago! Whew! Finally, we are planning to do it! One of our local resorts has some awesome opportunities for the youth in the area and we would love to take advantage of that! This might be a little pricey for some, so remember, we have done fundraising in the past to help offset the costs for those who are in need. Also, we aren't planning on going for a while, so that give us some time to save up! We will arrive at the mountain a little early so that we can spend time together in prayer and praise God for the beauty that he surrounds us with and the opportunities that He gives us in life. We will bring our own breakfast and snack and eat before we begin, but after our prayer. It would be wise to bring some extra cash for purchase of any additional items you may want or to purchase something to eat there if you prefer.
There is a $10.00 non-refundable deposit due no later than 02/05/10 per person.
If anyone forfeits their $10.00 deposit, it will go into the JC4IV fund.
If for any reason this trip is cancelled, all deposits will be refunded.
I'm sure it goes without saying, but this trip is subject to weather and ski conditions.

Kids Club Half Day - $55 Lesson Times 10:00am or 1:00pm

Includes ski or snowboard rental equipment; lift ticket, and two hours of
supervision and instruction. Lift ticket good for all day/all mountain.
Lesson Packages (Ages 13 & Older)

Mt. Ashland offers daily ski and snowboard lesson packages for all ability levels. Multiple day ski & snowboard packages are also available. Telemark lesson packages are available during weekend and holiday periods only.
All lesson times are 10am-12pm or 1pm-3pm and can be purchased in the
Mt. Ashland Rental Shop. Lesson duration is two hours.
